2016 has truly been a roller-coaster and it has honestly been hard to get through all the mess it’s left behind. But luckily along the way there have been some bomb albums to help the ride be a little smother.
Here are my top 5 albums of this year:
5. GLORY – BRITNEY SPEARS
Britney came back this year in, well… glory. This is an album that is full of bops that are immaculately produced. A redemption after Britney Jean, even. Maybe not the most commercially successful comeback but it proved britney is back and still has her star.
4. 7/27 – FIFTH HARMONY
With their last album as a 5 member group, Fifth Harmony really outdid themselves. With power full ballads, and contagious bops, this swan song for the quintet is a bitter but very sweet finale.
3. DNCE – DNCE
Delivering banger after banger, DNCE makes an impact with their debut album. And while it’s a great dance/funk pop album, even the ballads take the cake (by the ocean)
2. NEMESIS – BRIDGIT MENDLER
This is an EP but it’s an exceptional 4 track collection of vaporwave, Lauryn Hill, and R&B influences. Showcasing strong vocals and new styles, Bridgit cements herself out if disney chanel and has us excited for her next release.
Some honorable mentions before my number one pick:
- BUBBLE BATH – THAT POPPY
- THIS IS ACTING – SIA
- DANGEROUS WOMAN – ARIANA GRANDE
- BOP CITY – TERROR JR
1. THE HUMAN CONDITION
I’ve gushed about this album in my album review but I can’t stress enough what a much needed breath of fresh air for pop music this album is. Addictive beats and clever lyrics give us an album full of great songs that are sure to keep impacting radio next year.
Stayed tuned to see what the next day of our countdown brings you tomorrow!
